Safety and Security

The safety and security of your child is of paramount importance and access to the nursery is strictly controlled. The office is adjacent to the entrance to enable management to monitor who is entering and leaving the nursery during the day. In addition all visitors to the nursery are asked to provide identification and to sign the visitors book on arrival. Our staff are very conscientious and are required to adhere to strict policies and procedures regarding the authorisation for collection of children.

All employees are record checked with the Criminal Investigations Bureau and are also required to attend formal child protection training as part of their induction. This training is further supported by a fully trained Child Protection officer on site at the nursery.

The nursery also has a fully trained Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure  nursery safety and security at all times.

We also believe it is our duty to teach the children in our care about safety and security and discussions and activities around these subjects are built into the curriculum.

Ofsted said ' The nursery provides robust safeguarding policies and procedures which ensure that children are well protected. For example a thorough recruitment, vetting and induction procedure is in place. Risk assessments and daily checks by staff are effectively completed in each room, enabling children to play and explore safely within the setting. Children are aware that they need to wash their hands and good hygiene practices are observed throughout the setting. Older children develop a clear understanding of keeping themselves safe as they act as 'safety spies' before accessing the outside environment, where together with a member of staff they identify any hazards'.
